As my last entry focused on a hyper-technology future, I urge those stuck in the present to resist the fatigue of anticipation. Cassettes are great example of this not-so-fast philosophy, and take pause in the really cool, really functional things we've already invented and still take pleasure in.

Writer and critic, Alex Ross, recently blogged about a website dedicated to documenting the progress of the new Hamburg Philharmonic Hall in Germany. The site is a great example of a few different multi-media use concepts we've been discussing in class.

This month, pioneering musician Les Paul, director John Hughes, a handful of less publicized arts practitioners, and thousands of ordinary people, died. The New York Times celebrated the groundbreaking and successful innovations created by several lucky winners of a Times legacy. In Hughes' case, the official obituary, plus a Hughes Recap by A.O. Scott, two multimedia slide shows rehashing his films, and an interactive comment forum (which was your favorite Hughes' movie?) begged, why?
