"I love Christmas!" "I have never seen so many people!" "It was beautiful!" were some of the comments that sprinkled The Grove's Facebook page after it hosted its 8th annual tree lighting ceremony Sunday night with special guests Five for Fighting, Cirque du Soleil, Della Reese, The Fresh Beat Band, Lonestar, Dean Cain and many others.
The tree, a Douglas Fir, towered above the buildings at 100 feet, larger than last year's tree at Rockefeller Center in New York City. It was adorned with more than 10,000 ornaments and lit with more than 15,000 lights. Snowfall and fireworks cascaded onto the crowd as the night wore on.
