While the decisions are in for the Golden Globes awards, the jury is still out on who was best and worst dressed at the event that kicked off this year's awards season.

Here's a quick recap of stars' looks that were worthy of a Globe, as well the looks that might get a stylist fired:

When it came to the guys, Hollywood's young stars shined in sophisticated tuxes. Glee's Cory Menteith looked red-carpet ready in a Hugo Boss tuxedo with a subtle sheen, while Chace Crawford looked dapper in a Dolce & Gabbana suit, complete with skinny tie and pocket square.  Without a doubt, worst-dressed male goes to Mickey Rourke, who not only had the audacity to wear a cowboy hat, but a hat that completely clashed with the rest of his ensemble, which included a snake-skin lapeled tuxedo jacket.

Even the rain couldn't prevent Hollywood's most glamorous starlets from lighting up the red carpet in some truly gorgeous gowns. Top picks for best dressed of the night include Emily Blunt, whose pale pink Dolce & Gabbana dress was a perfect blend of romance and edginess with its layers of fabric and fraying; newcomer Lea Michele, who accented a show-stopping black Oscar de la Renta gown with emerald-toned earrings; the always beautiful Heidi Klum, who dazzled in a gray-blue Roberto Cavalli gown; and Drew Barrymore, who took a fashion risk with a nude Atelier Versace gown and looked stunning (despite the tumor-like hip accent on the dress).

Not every outfit was a winner: worst-dressed females for the night include Tina Fey in an awkward-length Zac Posen gown, Julianne Moore, who decided to wear an extremely unflattering Balenciaga dress, and Mariah Carey, who seemed to take the "globes" part of the Golden Globes a bit too literally in a cleavage-baring Herve Leger dress.

The night's top trends were shimmer and sparkles, as seen on Anna Paquin, Toni Collette, and Jennifer Garner; nude and champagne tones, as seen on Drew Barrymore, Christina Hendricks, and Nicole Kidman; purples in all shades, as worn by Sandra Bullock, Jane Krakowski, and Fergie; abstract waves, as seen on Chloe Sevigny and January Jones; and not-so-basic black, as worn by Penelope Cruz and Heather Graham.

Who knew umbrellas could be a great accesory on the red carpet!

You're right about worst-dressed. Snake skin is only allowed on Tuesdays.
